Date: 5 Dec 2002 From: Bruce Wallace Westbury - I enclose two references for Vogel's work. This includes all simple (super) Lie algebras so this is what I think of as MOALA. However this is not the Freudenthal story (except that both contain the third and fourth rows as lines). - I was very interested in your book because I had discovered much of it for myself. I think if I had not known what it was about I would have struggled. It is not an easy story to explain in writing. I have tried myself; not too successfully). I want to work with the quantum groups so I can't really take symmetric or antisymmetric invariant forms as my starting point. There are also other series that you don't have and which I dont really understand, for example the intermediate algebras of Barton and Sudbury 0 C 2 x SL(2) SO(7) and some series of super Lie algebras by Alberto Elduque. -- Bruce Westbury University of Warwick
